Understanding Diabetes

π What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a chronic health condition that affects how your body turns food into energy.
Normally, your body breaks down food into sugar (glucose) and releases it into the bloodstream.
When blood sugar rises, the pancreas releases insulin. In diabetes, this process is impaired.
π Types of Diabetes
- Type 1 Diabetes: An autoimmune condition where the body attacks insulin-producing cells.
- Type 2 Diabetes: The most common type, where the body doesnβt use insulin well.
- Gestational Diabetes: Occurs during pregnancy and usually resolves after childbirth.
